Ellacotts smash fundraising target! - 31/08/2017
We are thrilled to announce that the total raised for our 2016/17 Charity of the Year, Make-A-Wish is £8,145.39!

Throughout the year, the Ellacotts team participated in a whole host of events such as dress down Fridays, a Christmas jumper day, lots of bake sales and breakfast events.

Our flagship fundraiser of the year saw a team of 25 Ellacotts staff and Partners ditch their suits for a more scenic affair as they participated in a gruelling 50-mile bikeathon between our Banbury and Kettering offices.

The total raised, £8,145.39, smashes the original £6,000 target that we set at the beginning of the year.

David Stevens, Managing Partner, said:

“We are incredibly proud to have raised over £8,000 for Make-A-Wish over the last year. Our team has worked very hard and given up lots of their own time to take part in many different activities, and it is so rewarding to know that their efforts will help make a difference to the lives of children fighting life-threatening conditions.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated to our fundraising over the last year. It is because of this fantastic support that we have managed to beat our target and raise more money for our Charity of the Year than ever before.”

Make-A-Wish grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. They make their dreams a reality at a time when they need it the most.

Sarah Shearman, Regional Fundraising Manager for Make-A-Wish, said:

“We are extremely grateful to Ellacotts for their amazing fundraising efforts for Make-A-Wish. This year we want to grant 1,000 magical wishes and it’s fundraising like this that will help us achieve our target. A wish is a lasting memory not just for the child or young person fighting a life threatening condition, but for their parents and siblings too; it can provide some much needed respite or simply give them some precious time together as a family. Thank you so much to everyone that has given up their time and money to support Make-A-Wish this year. You really will help to make a difference.”

Following Make-A-Wish comes not one, but two new Charities of the Year! In the next financial year, we will be raising funds for Katharine House Hospice in Banbury and Cransley Hospice in Kettering.

Each year we ask people to nominate charities that mean something to them, which is then followed by a vote, with the winner becoming our Charity of the Year. Katharine House Hospice and Cransley Hospice were a joint nomination and any donations are to be split evenly between the two.

A massive thank you to everyone who donated including contacts, clients, friends, family and colleagues. Our fundraising activities for the next year are under way and we are hoping to raise even more money!
