UK200 Group Agriculture Specialist Training Day

Recognised as market leaders within the agricultural accountancy sector, Ellacotts LLP have completed a talk at the UK200 Group’s agriculture specialist training day. The course was held at the East India Club, St James Square, London on Thursday 7th June 2007.

John Thame, who heads up Ellacotts LLP agricultural division spoke about, issues surrounding farmhouses - “the tax threat from a practitioners point of view.” The talk examined the inheritance tax threat to the farmhouse, what HM Revenue and Customs now view as a farmhouse, the current legal position with regard to recent cases and how we can try to mitigate any tax liabilities.

Other speakers talked on key issues affecting business and the rural economy now and in the future including representatives from the Tenancy Farmers Association, Andersons, Rix Biodesel Ltd, IGD the Food Chain Centre and the FWAG - Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.
