Hooky Festival hits the big time!

Ellacotts LLP are pleased to sponsor the forthcoming Hook Norton Music @ the Crossroads event.

Hook Norton’s 12th Music at the Crossroads festival continues to grow as this year sees a headline act with worldwide following.

Saturday 5th July the rhythm and blues legends The Manfreds, will be playing in Hook Norton just weeks after they return from touring in Canada, USA and Australia.

This top class band, features Paul Jones (also a Radio2 DJ) and Mike D'Abo, plus Tom McGuiness and Mike Hugg. The Manfreds have an amazing catalogue of hits from the 60’s and 70’s including : ‘Do Wah Diddy’, ‘Mighty Quinn’, ‘5-4-3-2-1’, ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’, ‘Pretty Flamingo’, ‘Sha La La’, ‘If You Gotta Go,Go Now, ‘Ha Ha Said the Clown’, ‘My Name is Jack’, Semi-Detatched Suburban…….and the list goes on.

Organiser Pete Watkins; “The Manfreds are a fantastic live band performing so many classic, well known hits, it promises to be great day. It will also be a fantastic opportunity for local bands and singers from Hook Norton and Banbury to play on the same bill as some of the all time great song writers”

“We have 10 hours of continuous live music on two stages and a great line up of local bands including Leatherat, Sirens Call and the Oolites.”

“There is a lot more than live music on offer for the 2,000 plus people expected to come this year. There is a wide range of children’s entertainments for all ages including ‘knights jousting’, bouncy castle, craft making, plate smashing stall and other games plus foods and refreshments.”

This relaxed and friendly music festival really is a gem in the Oxfordshire calendar and shouldn’t be missed. Families in particular will have a wonderful day out.

All profits raised are donated to charities and local causes. Leukaemia Research Fund and the Katherine’s House Hospice were two of the charities to benefit from over £6,000 donated by the organisers, the Hook Norton Charitable Association last year.
