5 Accountants, 3 Peaks, 24 Hours

14 April 2009

It’s not everyone’s idea of a fun weekend, but for 5 accountants from Ellacotts LLP in Banbury climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours in order to raise money for Katharine House Hospice, is exactly what they will be doing on 18th April 2009.

Intrepid walkers Amy Stevens, Pip Elms, Andrew Richardson, Andrew Keyser and James Porter will start their day in Scotland by tackling the highest of the 3 peaks Ben Nevis (4,406 ft) before travelling to the Lake District to scale Scafell Pike (3,206 ft) and ending their day in Wales climbing Mount Snowdon (3,560 ft).

The National Three Peaks Challenge is steadily becoming a well known phrase amongst the more adventurous, but no one should underestimate the difficulty of travelling between and climbing all 3 mountains in 24 hours, as it literally drains your energy as well as depriving you of essential sleep.

Amy Stevens said. “It’s going to be a very challenging day. We all have different levels of fitness, but are going to work together as a team to ensure that we reach our goal of climbing all three mountains, whilst raising as much money as possible for Katharine House Hospice.”

Katharine House Hospice is Ellacotts LLP nominated Charity of the Year, and this event is just one of a number of initiatives that this firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers are undertaking in order to raise money for this worthwhile cause. Katharine House Hospice provides a range of specialist palliative care services, free of charge, to support people with terminal illnesses.
