Our history

Ellacotts has been delivering smart, tailored solutions to our clients for nearly 60 years.

Originally founded by Geoffrey Ellacott in 1960, we now have a substantial team of over 95 people across our Banbury, Kettering and London offices.

Over the years, we have developed niche specialisms across many sectors, including Agriculture, Academies, CharitiesInternational and Property and Development, building up a diverse yet loyal client base. We are proud to be one of the leading regional accountancy firms in the Midlands servicing Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire and Hertfordshire.

This is our journey:

1960 – The firm was founded by Geoffrey Ellacott and operated from offices on Banbury’s High Street

1963 – Moreton Stranks joins the firm and Ellacott Stranks & Co was launched

2006 – Ellacott Stranks becomes Ellacotts LLP

2010 – Ellacotts moves to Countrywide House, Banbury, Oxfordshire

2010 – Firm merges with Jones Boughton

2010 – Ellacotts celebrates its 50th anniversary

2012 – Ellacotts opens its second office in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

2014 – Ellacotts opens its third office in London

2014 – Ellacotts establishes Ellacotts Wealth Planning Ltd, a specialist service offering clients private wealth planning

2016 – Ellacotts moves its Wellingborough office to purpose built offices at Vantage House, Kettering Parkway, Kettering, Northamptonshire

2023 – Ellacotts opens fourth office in Birmingham

2023 – Ellacotts establishes Ellacotts Forensic Services, a specialist team experienced in dealing with a variety of forensic services.

2023 – Ellacotts establishes Ellacotts Charitable Foundation
