Agriculture & Property

I look after a wide range of farmers, estates, landowners and agri-businesses.

I am involved in my own family farm and this gives me great insight into the opportunities and challenges facing the farming sector. I joined the firm in 1991, taking a two-year secondment into the industry as a Financial Controller since that time. I have experience in all aspects of accounting and tax but specialise in taxation and business consulting in the areas of capital taxes, succession planning and diversification opportunities. I spend a great deal of time advising family farming businesses how to restructure, this quite often including significant changes in asset ownership. I pride myself on delivering practical solutions to often sensitive and complex challenges that our clients face. I regularly give presentations on strategic and tax planning opportunities for farmers and estates.

I am a member of the British Institute of Agriculture Consultants and sit on the CLA Northamptonshire Committee, which is dedicated to improving farming businesses. I am also a member of the Agricultural Committee of the UK200 Group.

Any free time that I have is spent with my family, my farm and unsuccessfully trying to keep as fit as I think I was when I was playing for the Northampton Saints Rugby team!
