Agriculture & Property

I am a Qualified Accounts Senior in the Agriculture and Property department. I joined Ellacotts in March 2016 and I am based in the Kettering office. Day to day I prepare personal, partnership, corporate and trust tax returns along with Capital Gains Tax computations and capital allowance claims. I also prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and am involved with Inheritance Tax projects and Capital Gains Tax work.

I decided to go into accountancy when I left Sixth Form in 2006 and went straight in to work where I studied whilst working. I was lucky enough to join a top accountancy firm that supported studying whilst working and, with this support, I qualified AAT in 2008 and ACCA in 2010. I stayed with the same firm until I decided to join Ellacotts in early 2016 following a small career break, which resulted in a trip to New Zealand.

Outside of work, I have grown up on the family farm and I now live with my partner on his farm and help whenever I am needed, whether it is with the cattle, sheep or the arable I get stuck in. I have a small flock of hens that cause havoc around the yard, much to my partner’s annoyance!  I love to read when I find the time and I also like to reupholster chairs in my spare time.
