Patent box tax

Patent Box Tax relief

Patent Box relief allows companies to reduce corporation tax profits by applying an effective 10% rate on trading profits attributable to certain intellectual property rights. The scheme was introduced to encourage development and commercialisation of intellectual property in the UK.

The calculations are complex and there have been changes in recent years to be aware of when making claims.

If your company make profits from exploiting patented inventions or holds qualifying intellectual property rights then we can work with you to prepare comprehensive calculations and maximise your corporation tax saving.
