I am the IT Manager for Ellacotts, having joined the firm in February 2015. My day-to-day role is non-stop and incredibly varied with no two days proving the same! One day I can be sitting at my desk working on a multitude of projects that will help to improve the company’s infrastructure and working practices, while the next day you won’t be able to find me as I’ll be running around the building ensuring the IT system is working seamlessly with no issues (and no complaints!).
Prior to joining Ellacotts, I have worked for a variety of globally recognised companies within their IT departments, which enabled me to gain and build upon my skills and knowledge to allow me to carry out my current day-to-day duties. I studied Professional Media at University, but I always had an interest in IT. A three-month temporary contract working in an IT role turned into a year and, after 12 years, the rest is history!
I enjoy the variety of topics I deal with, the people I get to work alongside (which is the whole firm!) and getting to work within an IT role. The speed and capability of technology is evolving, which excites me about working in IT, and the past ten years have seen a dramatic shift in the way in which the industry works for business – and now I’m eager to see what the next ten years will bring.
Outside of the office, I enjoy walking, cycling, golf and a spot of football – that is, when time permits – as I have two lovely young girls who I spend the majority of my free time with.
