Agriculture & Property

I joined Ellacotts in 2002 as a Manager in the Agriculture and Property department and became a Partner in 2016. I previously worked for a national firm of agricultural specialist accountants, and as an accountant for a large mixed farming business. I was raised on a mixed farm in Northamptonshire and met my husband whilst working in a farrowing house.  Pigs, sheep and hens are my main farming interest.

With this practical experience and wide knowledge, I enjoy providing ongoing business and tax planning advice to farming and rural clients, as well as dealing with accounting and tax compliance matters.  I take a practical approach to working with clients and understanding their wishes, with the aim of achieving the best outcome, particularly for significant assets.

I am a member of various farming and rural business organisations, including the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators (IAgSA), Agricultural Law Association and the Country Land and Business Association (CLA).

Away from work, I spend time with my family, and am outdoors whenever possible enjoying the countryside, walking, camping and watching wildlife, as well as all that goes with keeping a teenage son in order.  Although barely “proper” farming, I enjoy my flock of hens and in particular my few pigs.
