I joined Ellacotts in June 2022 as a Qualified Accounts Senior in the Agriculture and Property Department, having previously completed my ACA chartered accountancy qualification in April 2018. Coming from a long line of farming families on both sides, and having grown up on a working farm in Northamptonshire, I knew that an accounting career in the agricultural sector would be for me.
My day-to-day role includes preparing statutory accounts, business tax and personal tax computations for clients. I also assist the partners and managers wherever possible on wider business and taxation matters.
Since starting my professional career in 2013, I have worked at various firms specialising in the agricultural sector. My previous experience includes providing and advising on bookkeeping, MTD, accounts and tax planning services to a whole range of farming businesses.
I believe the best way to help clients is to build a long-standing relationship with them by getting to know and really understanding their businesses. Gone are the days of farming being a lifestyle, it is an exciting and broad industry with creative people coming up with interesting diversifications.
I moved to Ellacotts for the opportunities for growth they offer. I intend to build on my previous experiences and to be able to provide the best possible service to clients that they are known for.
When not in the office I can be found getting out into the countryside, entertaining at home or trying to squeeze in as many ski trips between the tax return deadline and the end of the ski season.
