I joined Ellacotts in July 2017 as an AAT Trainee within the Agriculture and Property department, which is my first role working within an accountancy practice. Before starting at the firm, I completed a Mathematics degree in 2016. I always knew that I wanted a career that would use my degree, but it wasn’t until I took a finance module within my second year of university that my interest in pursuing a career in accountancy was sparked, as it seemed to be the most appropriate next step for me.
In my day-to-day role, I help to process clients’ accounts, whilst simultaneously learning about accounting principles. The Trainee mentoring scheme has provided me with a platform that has enabled me to develop my skillset whilst receiving an in-depth and well-rounded education.
Outside of the office, I spend my time on the golf course and in the kitchen, trying to improve my abilities in both areas.
