I joined Ellacotts as an ACCA trainee in the Agriculture and Property department in April 2020. Prior to this, I was working as a finance assistant at a small charity where I had previously studied AAT.
Day-to-day, I am preparing accounts and tax returns for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and companies, as well as adhoc tasks that arise. Adapting your approach to each client means no two days are the same. I enjoy meeting clients to discuss their business and I have become involved in supporting clients through the Making Tax Digital transition with Xero.
With the excellent ‘buddy’ scheme that Ellacotts offer, I mentor two trainees to help them with starting their career at Ellacotts. It is great seeing people develop and learn, especially having been in the exact same position myself when I started.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends including eating out and going to the cinema. I also enjoy going to the theatre – mainly to see musicals – and walking my Jack Russell, Lily.
