Corporate Services

I work in the Outsourcing team as a bookkeeper. When I first started at Ellacotts in 2011, I was in a team that looked after both outsourcing and year-end audit clients. As the years have passed, I am now a member of the bookkeeping team, consisting of three people, solely looking after our outsourcing clients.

My role is to provide day-to-day book keeping for clients that may not want to employ someone full time to do the work required, generally because of the size and requirements of their business.  This includes dealing with purchase invoices and payments, sales invoices and payments, general ledger adjustments (payroll, depreciation, accruals, prepayments, etc.), bank access to make payments and check transactions throughout the month, VAT returns and associated EC reporting, plus anything else as it arises.

I am primarily office based but I also travel to clients on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and half-yearly basis, as required.  I use a mix of our clients’ software systems (some of these can be bespoke) and in house software packages both network and web based.  I regularly use several software packages such as Sage 50, Sage 200, Xero and SAP but have experience of using other software too.

At home I have a husband and 3 cats to keep me company and a lot of my spare time is spent making homemade wine and growing fruit, vegetables and flowers.
