Using Xero to automate your repeat invoicing can save you hours of valuable time.

When Making Tax Digital came into effect in April 2019, many of our clients moved to Xero to comply with the new rules. However, Xero can offer so much more than this.

One of our clients regularly invoices 50 customers per month and we were able to set up ‘repeat invoicing’ to save them manually having to enter then information each month. This is saving the client hours of valuable time they now spend on other aspects of their business.

We discussed the client needs and together set up a new repeating rental invoice to approve before sending the monthly invoices.

The client now maintains the ledger by regularly reviewing the ‘Repeating’ tab found through ‘Business’, ‘Invoices’, allowing them to check:

  • All repeating invoices are still active customers
  • Setting up new repeating invoices
  • Removing a repeating invoice if the customer is no longer an active customer

By discussing the client’s requirements, setting up the automation and providing step-by-step instructions for them to follow, we have saved them many hours of time each month and have made the data more reliable.
