When the opportunity recently arose to join the Agricultural and Property team at Ellacotts, I jumped at the challenge and love being part of the Ellacotts team. They are extremely supportive and have numerous opportunities for their employees. I am enjoying continuing to learn new skills and knowledge in taxation, especially within the agricultural sector.

I am an Assistant Manager and my role is mainly to prepare Self-Assessment tax returns for our agriculture and property clients and partnership tax returns. This involves collating an individual’s income: self-employment, property, investment, dividends, etc. and ensuring any allowances or reliefs are claimed where necessary. The role also involves preparing accounts and helping our clients to plan ahead in terms of business and taxation.

I am very hardworking, have an eye for detail and love trying to find a solution to a problem!

I previously worked for a firm of general accountants in Market Harborough.  In this role, I studied towards my ACCA exams, and became fully qualified in June 2016. I had already completed my AAT self-studied whilst in previous employment at my local Building Society.

In my 5 years at this practice, I mainly prepared statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses as well as preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships and quarterly management accounts. I also prepared Corporation Tax and VAT returns for a number of clients.

As well as keeping my mind active, I enjoy keeping myself physically active too. I have recently started classes in both ballroom and Latin dancing, as well as the usual exercise classes.
