Agriculture & Property

I joined the Agriculture and Property team in November 2017 as a qualified Accounts Senior, I jumped at this opportunity to progress my career and specialise in agriculture. The team are extremely supportive and have helped me in developing my agricultural/farming knowledge.

Throughout my time at Ellacotts I have progressed from a senior to assistant manager and now I am a manager.

My role is mainly to manage a portfolio of our agriculture and property clients, including limited companies, partnerships, trusts and sole traders. My work involves advising these clients in regard to tax planning and also managing routine compliance work, with regard to year-end accounts and relevant tax reporting.

I am hardworking, have an eye for detail and love trying to find a solution to a problem! I particularly enjoy helping with tax planning opportunities to help save clients’ tax, which can be achieved with the correct planning and structures in place.

I previously worked for a firm of general accountants in Market Harborough. In this role, I studied towards my ACCA exams, and became fully qualified in June 2016. I had already completed my AAT, which I self-studied whilst in previous employment at my local Building Society.
In my 5 years at this practice, I mainly prepared statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses as well as preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships and quarterly management accounts. I also prepared personal tax returns, Corporation Tax and VAT returns for a number of clients.

In my spare time, I love going to the theatre and spending time with my family, especially my two young nephews. I also love going on holiday to hot and exotic places, St Lucia is my favourite to date!
