I joined Ellacotts in June 2022 as a trainee accountant in the Agricultural and Property department after graduating from Harper Adams University with a First-Class Honours degree in Agri-Food Marketing with Business.
Having grown up on a dairy and beef farm, I have a keen interest in the agricultural industry and a career at Ellacotts provided me with the perfect opportunity of interacting with, and working on behalf of, the firm’s farming clients.
Day-to-day, I prepare accounts for farming partnerships and enjoy the variety of work that this entails. Since joining Ellacotts, I have been supported by a mentor, which has been fundamental to my learning and development. I have also had many opportunities to develop my accountancy knowledge, including completing a bookkeeping course and beginning a Xero adviser training course. In September, I will be starting my ATT Level 3 qualification and hope to go on to complete my chartered qualification in the future.
Away from work, I enjoy helping on the farm and going for long walks in the countryside. I also love sewing – having made many pairs of curtains and blinds for my home, as well as the odd skirt and dress!
