Agriculture & Property

I started my accountancy career at a small independent firm in Northampton around September 2008, where I studied for my AAT qualification. I was there for four years before moving to a Top 15 firm where I was for a further six years preparing accounts and going out on audits.

I have been at Ellacotts since August 2018 in the Agriculture and Property department as a Senior Accountant. Being from a large sheep farming family, it seemed the natural route to take when the job arose.

I really enjoy working in the Agriculture and Property department, as it allows me to combine my accountancy career with my love of farming. The whole team are really supportive and I feel like I have learnt so much. I especially enjoy meeting clients, whether that be in year-end accounts meetings or at agricultural country shows.

On a daily basis, I prepare year-end accounts, business tax computations and VAT returns, as well as assisting clients with a range of queries, ranging from software support to the most tax-efficient way of purchasing machinery.

In my spare time, I like to go on nice holidays, follow Northampton Saints, where I’ve had a season ticket for 12 years, and enjoy boozy brunches with friends.
