MAAT

Agriculture & Property

I started my training with Deloittes in Cheltenham before moving to Bicester in 1982. I qualified with the AAT in 1987. I was with Grant Thornton for a short while before joining a local Bicester based practice, where I remained until joining Ellacotts in 2009.

I had my own portfolio of clients, dealing with accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and payroll, so gained good all-around knowledge. Several clients moved over to Ellacotts with me, so I have known and dealt with these for over 30 years!

When I joined Ellacotts, I started by preparing accounts and tax returns but gradually took on the bookkeeping role for many agricultural clients. I visit several clients each month/quarter, dealing with their bookkeeping on Farmplan, Landmark, Sum It, Sage and Xero. I deal with VAT enquiries and new registrations, many relating to VAT and property. I enjoy the client contact very much and many are now good friends.

Working at Ellacotts is busy, challenging and satisfying. There is a good support system in place.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, like to travel, and enjoy trying out new recipes. My two dogs keep me active!
