I have been working with Ellacotts since August 2020 in the Payroll Department. On a day-to-day basis, I process payrolls for various clients, ranging from farms to engineers. These can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or annual payrolls.
I have been studying for my CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate, which I started in January and this has given me a great understanding of manual calculations and elements of payroll I have never come across before. I enjoy working for Ellacotts because of the client relationships I have built throughout my time here. The variation of different clients keeps my days interesting and exciting as not one day is the same.
Before Ellacotts I worked in a small accountants firm based in Brackley as the only Payroll and VAT Advisor, whilst studying for my Level 2 and Level 3 AAT certificates. I received a Distinction in Level 2 and a Merit in Level 3. These certificates helped gain me the experience to be able to complete journals accurately for the payroll and to be able to advise my team members when they have Excel/payroll journal queries.
In my spare time, I love to go on walks with my boyfriend and look after my pet rabbits and cat. I have four rabbits named Bumble, Bee, Crumble and Pongo and my cat is called Pepper. In the future, I would love to be able to have a place where I can rescue rabbits to give them a better life.
