My day normally consists of preparing accounts, tax returns and tax computations for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders. However, I am involved in being on-site with clients, completing audits for some of our corporate clients and academy trusts.

My day-to-day duties involve preparing accounts for a range of small to medium businesses including sole traders, partnerships and companies, as well as completing corporation tax returns.

I have worked in the banking sector and various private companies, but prior to Ellacotts, I worked in a London accountancy practice for 13 Years as their bookkeeper.

The two I do most regularly are that of preparing accounts – this is the main part of my role at Ellacotts. I draft annual accounts for a variety of businesses that are in different industries on a daily basis. I also prepare corporation tax – whilst preparing clients’ accounts I also prepare corporation tax returns for them.

My job involves completing bookkeeping and management accounts for various clients. I trained as a Management Accountant in industry until I took a break to have my three children.

My role is to provide day-to-day book keeping for clients that may not want to employ someone full time to do the work required, generally because of the size and requirements of their business.  

My clients vary from small sole traders to larger international companies with multi-currency accounts, preparing monthly management reports and quarterly VAT returns. I love the variety and diversity of clients that I deal with and the unique challenges each client brings with them
